The Asonomaso Outreach in the Asante region of Ghana, was a spectacular one without any regret. Arrangement was far advanced and expectations were high. It took place between the 22nd to 28th December, 2017. We were received and hosted by one Prophet Wilson, a good and faithful man of God in the Asante region of Ghana, doing great exploits for God. He occasionally visited us and encouraged us. His presence gingered us on and we spread out in our numbers as the town was large with many inhabitants.
As usually expected, it was a Christmas season and everyone was busy with programs organized here and there. We were one of those. The outreach team was full of young and dedicated men and women poised to contribute to the increase in the body of Christ. We spent seven days in Asonomaso. Unfortunately on the third day, which was 24th December, 2017, we were attacked and robbed of our phones and other items at dawn while the team was fast asleep. The robbery took place in the room given to the ladies through the windows. One of us, a strong lady who was heavily pregnant tried hard to wrestle with the armed robber. By the time we the men could respond to the alarm of the attack, the thief had absconded with a lot of items. Thankfully, nobody was hurt or harmed. We committed our safety in the hands of God and continued with the rest of the outreach days. We were not bothered. We were even gingered the more to do what we had already slated for action in Asonomaso.
We were actively involved with the indigenes, spreading the word of Christ. The evening sessions characterized with worship, film of the Passion of Christ, the Pilgrim's Progress and the rest of the evenings hit hard with crusades. The crusades saw people saved and delivered from the grips of evil powers. Destinies and hopes were restored to factory reset as people bore testimonies of their freedom. By our intel, many of the youth of the land were alcoholics and into drug abuse. Led by the Holy Spirit, we gave them counsels either in groups or one-on-one, coupled with prayers until some bore testimonies of their freedom. We also gave some of them Bibles as their weapons of knowledge and victory.
Souls saved were taken through basic Biblical teachings and some were also taken through baptismal classes and were baptized on the eve of our departure. Our stay in this particular outreach taught us many lessons; lessons that reoriented our positions in our faithful walk with Christ. We understood one thing that, just like Christ went through the cross, we are also to carry our own crosses if we want to truly follow Christ.
We celebrated the Christmas festivities with the indigenes by sharing food items like rice and oil, and dresses, clothing, shoes and confectionaries for the children. As part of our responsibility towards the souls saved, we are still in touch with some of them, who we encourage to stay strong in the Lord God. We departed back to our various destinations early dawn on the 28th December, 2017.
